5 MOST WORN: Makeup

Earlier this month I posted my 5 MOST WORN: Clothes, so today I decided to do the same thing but with makeup instead!

Models Prefer lipstick 'Picture Perfect'
This is a gorgeous pink colour which I think really suits me and most of what I wear. It's nothing too drastic; great for an everyday makeup look.

Maybelline The Falsies mascara
This mascara is amazing. It lasts long, it's not flakey or clumpy and basically just looks amazing.

Clinique Superbalanced foundation - Ivory
I've been using this foundation for over a year and absolutely love it. I have pretty clear skin so this foundations light coverage is perfect for me.

Maybelline Cover Stick - Yellow
This is another product that I've been using for aaages! It's perfect for concealing dark under-eye circles, but be careful not to apply too much because the yellow colour will look very strange against your skin.

Rimmel Stay Matte powder - Transparent
This powder is great, it doesn't look cakey and stays on for ages. It's transparent, meaning its not noticeable on the skin, and it really helps keep you shine free!

Healthy breakfast ideas

I'm no health/fitness guru, but I think eating a healthy breakfast is essential if you want to get the most out of your day. I've only been eating a proper, nutritious breakfast since about September this year, and I almost instantly noticed the differences. I was feeling more refreshed in the morning, my body felt stronger and my mood had definitely improved. Eating an insufficient breakfast, or skipping breakfast can be very dangerous and is not recommended.

To show you my idea of a healthy breakfast, this is what I eat almost every morning.

To make the cereal, I use:

~ 45g rolled oats
~ 1 tbsp chopped walnuts
½ tbsp sunflower seeds
½ tbsp pumpkin seeds
½ tbsp chia seeds
½ tbsp shredded coconut (optional)
~ fruit (I usually add bananas, berries or grated apple)
~ 1 tbsp natural Greek yoghurt
~ milk/soy milk/almond milk

I make it about 30 - 40 minutes before eating, to let the oats absorb the milk (not doing this may cause your body to become dehydrated). Sometimes if I'm still hungry I'll eat a nectarine or apple. A nice cup of tea afterwards is perfect for me, or maybe you'd prefer coffee! Remember to drink a large glass of water before eating anything in the morning, it will speed up metabolism and help digestion.

Of course, if cereal is not your kinda thing, there are plenty of other options... fruit smoothies, wholegrain toast, boiled eggs... heaps. I hope this post helped you out!

PS. A couple of cheeky days eating Froot Loops or Coco Pops is always necessary!

Review: The Book Thief

Hi everyone! I hope you have all had a lovely Christmas :)

I have just finished reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, and I can honestly say it is one of the most incredible, moving books I have ever read.

The story is about a young girl, Liesel Meminger, and is set in 1939, Nazi Germany. At age nine, she is sent to a town named Molching to live with foster parents Rosa and Hans Hubermann. On the train journey to Molching, Liesel finds and takes a small book buried in the snow. She is taught by Hans how to read and write, and discovers her passion for words. Slowly, Liesel acquires many more books, as well as forming close bonds with those around her.

The novel is labelled Teenage Fiction, however I believe the story would be appreciated by people of any age (about 14+). It is so beautifully written and captured me instantly. I simply cannot recommend this book enough; it's a classic.

There's also a movie coming out soon which I'm hoping will be fantastic and remain true to the book. Here's the trailer for anyone interested!

Pre-Christmas Splurge

This week I've managed to use up all my money on a few too many treats. Here's what I got!

 Luxury Lush Pudding - Lush - $6.75

This is my very first Lush purchase ever! I stepped inside the shop and got very excited as I've heard Zoella rave about it sooo much. I didn't have too much money to spend so I only got this (amazing) bath bomb, which was actually a really good price. It smells incredible... kind of gingery and a bit of vanilla... I cant wait to try it!

 Face Masks - Priceline - $3.99 each

Oh, don't blame me, I know these do absolutely nothing... but they're fun nonetheless! The blue mask is 'anti-stress' and the brown one is 'deep cleansing'.

Mango Body Butter - The Body Shop - $9.95

Anyone who knows me will know I am in love with The Body Shop. Unfortunately it's insanely overpriced. These body butters are available in a large tub, or a small one like this. I bought it at the start of the week and it's almost finished! I love it so much, and definitely recommend it. The mango scent was my favourite, as well as pink grapefruit. It's fab for an all over moisturizer, but not so much on your hands as it can be quite slippery.

Rimmel Lasting Finish in Candy - Priceline - $6.95
Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer - Priceline - $14.95
Maybelline Hyper Glossy liquid liner - Priceline - $6.95

After seeing how gorgeous a pale pink lipstick looked on Tanya Burr, I assumed it would look that lovely on everyone. After getting home and trying it on, I was a little stunned as it looked a bit... different on me. It took a little bit of getting used to but I don't mind it too much! I guess I would prefer it without as much shimmer.
Everyone in the beauty world has been raving about the Wake Me Up concealer and foundation, and I can't help but jump onto the bandwagon. I've inherited dark under-eye circles which I am very insecure about, and I've never found a product that completely conceals them. I would be lying if I said that this concealer does the trick, but it's definitely the closest I've been! This, along with my Maybelline Cover Stick Concealer, is pretty good!
Purchasing this liquid eyeliner was actually a mistake! I forgot to put it down after looking at it and handed it to the shopkeeper with all of my other stuff without noticing. Oh well, I'm actually really glad that happened because I've wanted a liquid eyeliner for a while and I've just been too scared. I'm pretty happy just using a pencil, but I'm gonna test out this one now that I have it!

 Blue lace scrunchie - Valleygirl - $4.95

Couldn't resist buying this. It's adorable, and I'll be able to wear it with my school uniform so my hair will look a little less boring!

I hope you all had a wonderful week :) Let me know if you want reviews for any of these products! Have a wonderful Christmas, and if you don't celebrate Christmas, enjoy your week anyway!

5 MOST WORN: Clothes

I have so many lovely clothes in my wardrobe, but for some unknown reason I always manage to wear the same few items over and over again... therefore it wasn't too much of a difficult task for me to pick out my five most worn clothes.

Cotton On - Black leggings with leather strips
These leggings are amazing... so comfortable and you can dress them up or down.

Target - Green parka
I can't remember the exact price, but it was a definite bargain compared to some of the other green parkas on sale right now. Plus it is super warm and cozy!

Cotton On - White 'New Yorker' Tee
Who doesn't love a white tee?

 Myer - Blue high-waisted jeans
Classic blue denim colour but with a cute pattern.

Sportsgirl - Grey woollen jumper
I haven't worn this much lately as it's summer here in Australia, but I wore the hell out of it in the colder months. Looks great layered or even just to keep warm around the house.

I've just noticed that all these items really compliment each other! Anyway, I hoped you liked my very first blog post, and I'm planning on doing a similar thing but with make up and maybe jewelry.
